- This course will define for you exactly what Personal Colour Analysis is.
- You will learn how and why it works, why it is important to you, your clients, and your business.
- The colour principles and optical illusions underlying colour analysis will be explained.
- You will learn the learn the scientific principals, and colour theory underpinning Sci\ART® Twelve-Tone Analysis .
Day 2 & 3
9:00 AM-5:00 PM
- Each student will have full colour analysis, and receive their own Personal Book of Colour.
- You will work together as a group to conduct the colour analysis. This will be in the form of a role play/practice/ simulation. One participant will act as the “client”, one will act as the consultant ,and the group will work together to go step by step through the analysis.
- You will have the opportunity to be colour analyzed and experience the process as a client would.
- You will have a hair and make up consultation and be draped in your colours.
- You will complete the personality traits survey and learn the personality traits associated with your personal colour tone.
- You will have the opportunity to act as the colour consultant.
- You will gain hands-on experience using the hand boards and the multiple sets of drapes to do the draping of the colour samples.
- As the acting colour consultant, you will explain the principles and the thinking process at each step as different tests are compared and contrasted. The group will help with the evaluation.
- You will have access to Sci\ART® Twelve-Tone Colour Analysis™ tools and equipment.
- You will be listed as a certified Sci|ART colour analyst on the Sci\ART Global web site.
*A minimum of fifteen practice sessions with friends and family is recommended prior to engaging clients for a paid Sci\ART personal color analysis session.
Colour your perceptions of personal SUCCESS
Colour creates a powerful impression. In fact, when we look at someone, colour is the very first thing we see. Colour also lends an emotional response to first impressions, that shape, size, and style cannot. It quite literally COLOURS our perceptions.
Stylists in the entertainment industry have prized this little known fact for decades. They have used colour to the fullest advantage to slenderize, beautify, dignify, minimize, enhance, and otherwise create any image a director could imagine.
The world recognizes colour
People have always understood the idea of someone looking fabulous in a certain colour. However, the notion of wearing “the right colors” as a tool for personal image enhancement came into the spotlight in the early 1980s, most notably because of the book, “Color Me Beautiful” by Carole Jackson. Some people found great success using the seasonal approach. They were “sold for life”.
That’s because their color palette aligned perfectly with a True Winter, Spring, Summer, or Autumn skin tone(truly warm or cool). For the significant number of people with skin tone that did not perfectly align with one of the four seasons however, disappointment resulted when they “had their colours done” and found they didn’t feel good in all of their colours. It didn’t take long for discerning consumers and colour analysts alike to recognize there were inherent limitations in the four seasons approach.
Even in the heyday of “Colour Me Beautiful”, two-thirds of your clients would have walked away dissatisfied. Worse, you would have lost credibility as people walked away wondering why you didn’t do a better job of matching them up to one of the four palettes.
Sci\ART has transformed colour analysis
Kathryn Kalisz, founder and CEO of Sci\ART, found the dilemma of innacurate analysis fascinating. She decided to take on the challenge of uncovering what was missing from the many, variable forms of colour analysis available throughout the world.
Through her comprehensive research, her extensive experience as a fine artist, and her seven years working full-time as one of four master colourists (for renowned artist and colour standards expert Munsell - during a period when every example of every colour had to be produced for use by industry for colour matching purposes), she knew that virtually two-thirds of humanity has skin tones that are neutral. Dear Professional Candidate,
If you care about your appearance and that of your clients, and if you value the money that is typically invested in looking one’s best, the most important and valuable thing you can do is embrace my approach to personal color analysis.
Color is so influential that it surpasses hair color, lipstick, shoes, even a new suit, in importance. Why ask yourself or your clients to invest in any of these items before knowing the colors from which they should choose?
In my view, beauty presents itself as one unified whole. When we look at one another, we see an entire person – one whole image – and that image is seen at its best when it is unified from head to toe. In fact, when that is accomplished, we perceive someone looks BEAUTIFUL.
As a fine artist, I know this concept of unity well. It is a concept that is fundamental to the way masterpieces are created, and why masterpieces are so enlivening to gaze upon – and so memorable.
Scientists understand the effect of color, too. Like music, color travels in vibrating waves away from the object we see. We can see and feel the beauty of a harmonious color combination just as we can hear and feel the beauty of a harmonious musical arrangement. And just as when a note is observably out of tune, we can sense when a color doesn’t belong.
I know these artistic and scientific principles apply to people as much as to paintings and music. That is what inspired me to create Sci\ART. This is why my Twelve-Tone Color System is so important. It will give you a way of identifying the exact color tone of someone’s skin, so that you can bring color selections into harmony with the person – to create one unified whole.
